The National Government has appointed the five members of the new National Competition Authority (NCA), which will operate in a decentralized and autonomous manner within the scope of the National Executive Branch. This was done through Decree 810/2025, published today in the Official Gazette. The designations of the new authorities were made following a Public Contest of Merits and Opposition. According to a statement received by the Argentine News Agency, the members are as follows:
• Eduardo Montamat: President of the Competition Tribunal. • Lucas Trevisani Vespa: Member of the Tribunal. • Marcelo D'Amore: Member of the Tribunal. • Germán Zamorano: Secretary of Economic Concentrations. • Ana Parente: Instructor Secretary of Anti-competitive Practices.
The members of the NCA were provisionally appointed by President Javier Milei, pending the definitive approval from the Senate for their appointments. The composition of the NCA fulfills the legal mandate to establish an autonomous and independent body. This process occurs seven years after the sanction of the law that established it.
